Javado won their hat trick at Chelsea Flower Show winning their 3rd Plant of the Year Award.

Following presentations of the many excellent new plants the panel of over 100 Chelsea judges awarded their entry Viburnum ‘Kilimanjaro Sunrise’ Chelsea Flower Show Plant of the Year 2015.

The show saw massive interest in this stunning new plant on the RHS stand with 20,000 leaflets ready for collection by the avid show visitors who were queueing from the first day to view it.

To have found the three winning plants in successive years shows that Javado maintains its position as introducing some of the best new plants to both the public and to the retail trade.

This is possible due to Javado’s close working relationships with the best innovative growers on the continent who will often offer such plants to Javado first.

Javado worked in close cooperation both with their partner grower Van Son & Koot in Holland and partner exhibitor Burncoose Nurseries in the UK to pull this off.

Healthy stocks of plants are on reserve ready to supply Javado customers along with colourful POS showing the merits of this new introduction.

With its unique characteristics, the Viburnum ‘Kilimanjaro Sunrise’ is a garden plant that keeps on amazing you throughout the seasons. In spring umbels of soft white lacecap flowers changing to blush pink covering the plant from top to bottom. Masses of deep red berries appear in Summer turning glossy black as they ripen and attracting birds into the garden . In late Summer there’s a second flush of blossom. In Autumn the foliage attains its splendid fiery orange to red shades in a grand finale of long lasting colour.

“To win this award is such a big honour. I just can’t believe we’ve managed to win it a third time in a row! I really must say that this viburnum is as elegant as it is versatile. Several seasons ago we spotted this and just loved the look of it and recognised it as a winner. So it is fantastic that this has become our third successful Chelsea introduction..” says Javado’s Chris Campbell

The award winning plants introduced by Javado for 2013 and 2014 were: Hydrangea ‘Miss Saori’ (2014) and Mahonia ‘Soft Caress’ (2013) which have gone on to sell well ever since.
